Zare Restaurant
New restaurant takes over the old Red Hen compound at 5091 St. Helena Hwy in the Napa Valley. The owner of Zare in downtown San Francisco has created Zaré Napa. Similar to the San Francisco restaurant Zaré Napa has a Mediterranean-California menu, The new Napa Valley setting, with its balmy climate and abundant local resources, is an ideal showcase for chef /owner Hoss Zare’s inventive fusion cuisine. Inspired by his Persian heritage chef Zare melds the familiar with the exotic and is renowned for the beauty of the plates he turns out as well as their complex, exquisitely crafted combinations of flavors and textures. An example is the beautiful smoked salmon-wrapped foie gras served over a bed of delicate lentils.

The restaurant features organic ingredients, sourced from nearby purveyors and farms. Appetizer highlights will include braised veal cheeks over white beans, with parsley and olive oil; Zare’s signature beef carpaccio; beet ravioli with porcini mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes and feta; and a sumptuous Smoked Pheasant Salad with watercress, roasted bell peppers, walnuts and chevre. Entrees will feature local product such as Napa raised lambs and Sonoma rabbits. Zare claims the restaurant will be the first stage of a multi-use development on the Red Hen site, which ,include a larger restaurant with rooftop lounge, a banquet facility, bed and breakfast and retail stores. The casual dining restaurant will be open for lunch and dinners daily.
