Our Course

Our club owes its existence to it founding members and the McNear family who donated sufficient land for an 18-hole course. Due to fiscal constraints the founding members initially built 9 holes in 1922. Brainard Jones, a famous local architect, whose many fine homes are scattered throughout west Petaluma, designed the clubhouse. During the depression, a portion of the Club's property was sold to raise needed money. The original nine holes were redesigned at that time and have enjoyed minor enhancements over the years.

The current course configuration offers numerous tee placements that create the need for a variety of shots and different club selections. All of the holes are tree lined and our greens were designed for accurate approach shots. A very good short game is essential to scoring well and our greens challenge even the most accurate putters. The 9/18th green may be the toughest two putts in Sonoma County and its not even tiered. It drops three feet from front to back which makes all downhill putts difficult to keep on the green and side hill putts have a tremendous break to them. Its enjoyable to relax on the deck overlooking this 480 yard par 5 hole with sloping green and watch the players try to save par if they are fortunate enough to reach the steep uphill green in regulation.
