Napa Valley Country Club

Napa Valley Country Club Epitomizes the essence that people identify with the Napa Valley. Located in the wine country it is picturesquely set among beautiful oak-studded hills in the Coombsville area of Napa County. When you drive through the entry gate, with its stone columns built many decades ago, you realize you are entering a special place.

Nestled in the hills of the Napa Valley this 6,148-yard, par 72-layout rolls through the countryside in grand fashion. Napa Valley Country Club is the only entirely private country club in Napa County. Opening its doors in 1916 and incorporating in 1923, we have a rich history covering decades. We invite you to take a look at one of the best kept secrets in Napa Valley.

The original front nine fairways were cut out of tall grass with wild oats as rough in 1917 by a group of Napa Valley businessmen, who constructed "oiled sand" greens. Over the years, it developed into a 3,008-yard layout reminiscent of a classic parkland design. The tees are generally elevated, the fairways are narrow and lined with large oak and redwood trees, and the greens are modest.

The back nine was completed in 1990. Designed by Ronald Fream, with features found in more modern courses, it enables the golfer to enjoy two distinctly different playing experiences, this nine is 3,140-yard target style layout with rolling fairways and undulating greens. Gorgeous scenery, an abundance of wildlife, and beautiful natural surroundings make a round at Napa Valley Country Club seem more like a stroll through a nature wonderland. Electric carts, fully equipped Pro Shop, teaching Pros, and practice facilities complete the golf experience.

Clubhouse

Members voted Saturday, November 11, 2000 on building a new clubhouse. The project was completed in early 2004, with the ribbon cutting ceremony March 6, 2004. The clubhouse is constructed in the 1920's craftsman style, complete with Mission style furnishings. We invite you to come see one of the best kept secrets in Napa Valley and one of the finest clubhouses in Northern California.
