Events

The Wine Train hosts a variety of special events throughout the year ranging from special wine pairings to Murder Mystery Dinner Theater. Due to tremendous popularity and limited seating, most of our events may require small groups to sit with other small groups. Private tables are available for parties of four, or multiples of four.

We also offer special events for some holidays such as Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Season, and New Years.

Vintner's Lunch

Ever popular... and often first to sell out... this weekly gourmet dining experience features a special Guest Vintner, Executive Chef Kelly Macdonald and Wine Director Ryan Graham as they join forces to plan a diverse four course gourmet lunch. Each month, the menu is specially developed to complement the day's wines choices. Our Guest Vintner will share insights, answer questions and be at your disposal for this three-hour journey.

Appellation Dinner

From Rutherford to Rhone Valley, Spring Mountain to South Africa, enjoy a culinary journey designed exclusively to pair gourmet food with wine from world renowned appellations. Award-winning, Executive Chef Kelly Macdonald and Napa Valley Wine Train's Director of Wine, Ryan Graham, join forces to plan a diverse four course gourmet dinner menu. Each month the menu is specially developed to complement the evening's wine selections.

Moonlight Escape

Escape from the pressures of everyday life to the moonlit vineyards of Napa Valley. The only thing more romantic than a dinner for two in a private booth in the Napa Valley Wine Train's 1952 glass domed, Vista Dome is making the journey under the light of the full moon.

Varietal Voyage

Discover what makes a varietal unique. Wine Director, Ryan Graham explains how terrain, elevation, climate and even growing locations can have a dramatic effect on a wine's flavor and food pairing possibilities. During your journey, savor Chef Kelly Macdonald's inventive dinner, designed to perfectly compliment the selected wines for the evening. Enjoy the exceptional view of the valley from the elevated Vista Dome Car during your evening of culinary adventure. Scheduled for select Fridays.

Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre

The Napa Valley Wine Train is pleased to announce a new Murder Mystery play centering on the clandestine world of the gum shoe. Come prepared to mix and mingle, dress the part, or just get down to business and solve the murder.

Trainplays

The Napa Valley Wine Train introduces our hilarious new dinner theater, "trainplays!" Laugh your way through the series of one-act plays on board the Napa Valley Wine Train. Enjoy a gourmet dining experience, wine and tasteful humor while traveling through the lovely Napa Valley. Family Date Night

Parents are treated to a quiet, uninterrupted gourmet dining experience in lavishly restored 1915-1917 Pullman Dining and Lounge Cars surrounded by elegant decor and while enjoying the attentive service of a bygone era. Children are entertained by professional day care providers in another rail car on the train with games, movies, and their own special meal complete with sundaes!
