The Story of Teddy Bears
If you’ve stayed at a Four Sisters Inn, you’ve surely noticed the bears. For more than 25 years, we’ve placed teddy bears in all of our rooms, all of them available for adoption. They are very popular with our guests, many of whom like taking "their" bear home to remember a very special trip -- a honeymoon, an anniversary, or just a wonderful time away.

We’re constantly asked where we got the idea for the bears. If you’ve been wondering, too, here’s the story: Green Gables Inn, our first property, was the childhood home of the real-life "four sisters." When the girls were still teenagers, they began welcoming summer guests to this inn, who seemed to enjoy seeing the girls’ stuffed animals on the beds.

Over the years, as the little seasonal business grew into a real, year-round business and the girls grew into women, they decided the teddy bears were part of their legacy. Hence, you’ll always find adoptable teddy bears at the Four Sisters Inns!
