Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park
Tips on Planning Your Visit
Ready for a great day at Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park? Here is some information that will help you make the most of your next visit. And please explore all of the links to the left to help maximize the fun during your visit!
The Best Time to Visit
- Plan to visit the park when attendance is lightest.
Best bets: weekdays during the summer and any day during the months of June and October.
- Don't let a few clouds, or even rain, keep you from enjoying a great day at Gilroy Gardens. Days with inclement weather can be the best time to visit because lines are short and fewer guests are in the park. The park is open as scheduled (usually with almost all rides operating), rain or shine.
Things to Bring Along
- Bring sunscreen, lip protection and a hat or sun visor to protect yourself from the summer sun.
- Wear comfortable, broken-in shoes. Wear cotton clothing: it is light and comfortable.
- Guests may not bring food into the park. However, Gilroy Gardens does offer a picnic area outside the main entrance for guests who wish to bring their own food.
- Instead of bringing a purse or backpack, wear a small "fanny pack" to carry your wallet and essentials. These are much easier to take on rides and harder to misplace during your day of fun.
- Pocket knives and metal chains, regardless of size, are not permitted inside the park.
Getting Around the Park
- Guests may rent either manual or electric wheelchairs for use within the park. The manual wheelchair is $15 per day and the electric wheelchair is $40 per day.
- Familiarize yourself with the park's layout by taking a moment to look over the park map handed out at turnstiles or view the park map online.
- Arrange a meeting place should your party get separated.
Families with Children
- Upon entering the park, point out a uniformed security officer that your child can easily spot if he or she should become lost. Lost Parents may visit Information, Please! or contact a park associate for assistance.
- Need a stroller and can't fit another thing in the car? Gilroy Gardens offers daily stroller rentals. Single passenger is $10 per day; double passenger is $15 per day. Check out strollers in the morning, as supplies are limited!
- A guest's height is an important safety factor on many rides. Be sure the children in your party are tall enough to enjoy each activity by visiting our height station at Information, Please! before heading to the rides. Check out the fun and safety guidelines (located at each ride entrance) before you get in line.
